My Life in Books – The one that can change lives.

The Bible (in a year)
I am always reading bits of the Bible. It is the only consistent book presence in my life. A verse here, a chapter there and book or two. I got a Bible which is set out allowing you to read it every day in finish within a year – a lot of pressure. So I haven’t finished it in the year ( I never intended to) but I have loved reading consistently and chronologically. It obviously contains all the Bible stories we know, Adam and Eve, Noah and the Ark, Moses and the Red Sea, Samsom, Ruth, David and Goliath, Esther, and that is just the Old Testament. It teaches us about God, and about the life of Jesus and the church that appeared after Jesus returned to heaven. Reading it in context has helped me understand much more of these stories and characters.
I have never shied away from sharing my love for God and church and the Bible. It is part of my identity and I am very grateful that I can openly carry and read my Bible when so many people haven’t even got access to it. It is a book which is real, giving advice, teaching, telling me off and reminding me that this world has a great Creator who loves us incredibly. This book can change lives because it has and is changing me.
Has a book changed your life?
